I like to keep my ear close to the ground when it comes to Brighton food news. So pop by here to find out all the latest news on the upcoming and newly launched Brighton restaurants, cafes and pop-ups and supper clubs. Occasionally I also like to post interviews with the top chefs in Brighton too.


  • Simon used to live on a pick your own farm and I spent my summer holidays down in Devon with my granddad who had bantams, ducks, chickens and terrapins that lived in a pond in the living room – no word of lie! These formative experiences mean we both love returning to the countryside and getting up close with nature.

  • The sun is shining on my face, I have a glass of fruity Pimm’s in my hand and the smells of foods from around the world are wafting in the air. I’m in HEAVEN. Well, actually I’m at the Brighton Foodies Festival on Hove Lawns but as a food blogger, this is my equivalent.

  • Brighton has several gluten-free and vegan-friendly pizza restaurants; namely Purezza, Pizzaface and Morelli Zorelli – all of which I’ve tried vegan pizza from. And I’ll be honest, from what I tasted there, congealed vegan cheese isn’t something I’d ever choose to order… Until I tried the new gluten-free and vegan menu at Fatto a Mano.

  • In aid of humanitarian organisation Action Against Hunger, I, along with Andy Lynes, Euan McDonald, The Graphic Foodie, Tom Flint, and Rosie Posie have agreed to swap pens for pans and prepare a one-off, six-course menu, to be judged by Brighton’s restaurateurs, chefs and diners (cue my nervous twitchy face).

  • So here we are in March already! The start of the year has practically flown by and I think that’s partly to do with how much the Brighton food scene is thriving right now. There are several exciting new openings on the horizon including etch. from Stephen Edwards on Church Road in Hove, Pascere from Tom Griffiths and Amanda Menahem in The Lanes and Pike & Pine from Matt Gillan on St James’ Street (watch this space for my reviews).

  • Last night the atmosphere was electric as the movers, shakers and culinary elite of Brighton’s food scene packed into Brewdog for the second annual Brighton’s Best Top 20 Restaurants Awards. As I scoured the room I was honoured to be amongst such esteemed company and memories came flooding back of all the wonderful meals, exquisite cocktails and friendly service I have received from many of them in the last 12 months.

  • One of Brighton’s favourite and most established Indian restaurants is expanding its empire. Curry Leaf Cafe has been catering for Brightonian’s from its Ship Street location since April 2014 and just last week it opened another new restaurant in Kemptown.
