1. Seafood Supper – Pop-Up Restaurant
DATE: Fri 15th April 2016, 7:45pm
LOCATION: La La’s Cafe, Hove
FOOD: 4 courses of fusion seafood presented as tiny plates of art. The menu for this evening includes devon crab & mixed seafood risotto with parmesan crisps and flaked salt cod with asparagus purée, queen scallops, crispy potatoes, salsa verde and tapioca caviar. Having attended two of Andy’s pop-ups myself (read about that here), I highly recommend his food – especially if you’re a seafood lover.

2. A 5-course menu inspired by the agricultural bounty of the Sussex Downs – Isaac At Pop-Up Restaurant
DATE: Thur 15th April 2016, 7:00pm
LOCATION: Brighton, North Laine
FOOD: Isaac At is a permanent pop-up restaurant with a five-course seasonal tasting menu. In the week leading up to the event the chefs will source, sample, design and create dishes that best lend themselves to the seasonal freshly picked produce available. 3. Spring Tasting Menu – Maw Pop-Up Restaurant
DATE: Thur 14th April 2016, 8:00pm
LOCATION: Brighton Square, Brighton Lanes
FOOD: Maw, which means the gullet of a greedy person, is a pop-up restaurant in the heart of Brighton lanes. On the evening of the 14th April, two tasting menus will be available, including a vegetarian option. Dishes such as duck paté with cherry, radish & nasturtium, purple gnocci with peach, burnt apple, bok choi, lavender & ricotta and cod poached in olive oil with red pepper, garlic chips, chorizo & roast potato skin will be served by head chef Mark. This evening, and all Maw Pop-Ups, are BYO alcohol.

4. CanTina – Supperclub
DATE: April 22nd and April 23rd, 8:00pm
LOCATION: Brunswick area, private residence
FOOD: A supper club fueled by spring and seasonal produce. The menu is made of 5 courses including, home-cured sea trout with fennel, apple & beatroot, new seasons lamb with purple sprouting broccoli, anchovy & wild garlic and buttermilk pudding and rhubarb sorbet. Having experienced Tina’s private chef service in my own home (read about that here), I can personally recommend Tina’s food. The evening is BYO alcohol.

5. Master Chef Tony Rodd at Polygon – Pop-Up Restaurant
DATE: 24th April 2016, 7:00pm and 1st May, 6:30pm
LOCATION: Hen Restaurant Brighton
FOOD: The Master Chef finalist is treating diners to a 4-course menu (with the option of meat, vegetarian or pescatarian), taking traditional flavour combinations and playing with texture and presentation. Dishes include madeleines made from chorizo and parmesan & rosemary, cured trout on a bed of watercress with a crab salad & lemon pearls and lamb rump with textures of heritage Beetroot and Salsa Verde.

6. Spring in Sussex – Pop-Up Restaurant
DATE: Sat 30th April 2016, 6:30pm
LOCATION: Westbourne, West Sussex
FOOD: 5 courses of very local, seasonal produce with an emphasis on simplicity and great flavours. Hosted in an intimate venue in the village of Westbourne, West Sussex. The menu includes venison from the South Downs, asparagus from Durleighmarsh Farm, Goodwood lamb, Sussex Ash goat’s cheese and Sussex rhubarb.
