  • It seems today you can get a gadget for anything, especially when it comes to the kitchen. My collection already includes a breadmaker, a sandwich toaster, an ice cream machine, a juicer and even an electric egg boiler (don’t judge me it’s amazing!) Despite this rather large collection, I’ve made room for a new item… Say hello to the Veggie Bullet.

  • Brighton is a Mecca for vegetarian restaurants, and we are spoilt for places that go beyond the usual fodder. Nice enough as a goat’s cheese & caramelised onion tart or risotto are, it’s rather arduous when you find them on every menu in town. Thankfully, Brighton has Terre á Terre in The Lanes.

  • I love plant-based foods, but I’m usually of the opinion that although often wonderful and full flavoured, they would be improved if a little meat were added. However, recently I’ve discovered several veggie/vegan restaurants that have really pushed the button for me. Food for Friends being the most recent.

  • A new food joint has just landed in the heart of the North Laines – 1847 Brighton – specialising in high quality, locally produced vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dining. But why 1847? Because that’s the year The Vegetarian Society was formed… smart.

  • The Eat Naked ethos is food free of gluten, refined sugars, chemicals and processing and it offers a dairy-free and vegan-friendly option every day. There are two owners behind Eat Naked, partners in business and in life: Stacie Stewart and Ryan Brown. So if I’m honest, before checking out Eat Naked I wasn’t a big fan of the ‘clean eating’ movement… I just thought it was a bit faddy and an overly controlled way of intaking food. I’m more of a balancer, eating ‘naughty foods’ on some days and ‘healthy foods’ on others.

  • Foodilic is one of my favourite lunch spots in Brighton for healthy food. If there was such a thing as health food heaven, this would be it. It’s on North Street, which isn’t known for its great food spots and is one of those places that you can easy walk past and miss.
