The BRAVOs – Brighton Restaurant Awards Online – is back for its third year running this March. The awards differ from all other restaurant awards in the city because the venues that win are entirely down to you (if you vote!)
And this year there’s a pretty good incentive to do that, as everyone who does is in with the chance of winning £200, as well as a whole host of other prizes from the sponsors – Laurent Perrier Champagne, The Great British Charcuterie, The Kariclub.com and The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership.
The BRAVOs are only open to small-scale, independent food & drink venues in the spirit of supporting and celebrating the vibrant independent scene Brighton has to offer.

The winners of last year’s BRAVOs
There are 16 categories the public can vote in including: Eat Well for Less, Plant Champions, Sussex’s Finest, Best Pub Grub, Best Afternoon Tea and Café Culture
What’s more there’s no limit to how many categories you can vote in, or who you vote for – just as long as the business is within a 15 mile radius of Brighton and a single venue isn’t entered into more than five categories.
If you plan to vote have a think back to where you’ve been recently that was cut above the rest and head over to brightonrestaurantawards.co.uk now to have your say!
Even if you don’t vote it’s still worth visiting the website and checking out some of the suggested businesses on there. You may (as I did) see a few places you want to try out!
Finally, if you need a little inspiration here are some of the food & drink venues that I think deserve to win in each of the categories:
- Best Pub Grub – The Pond
- Eat Well For Less – Pompoko
- Café Culture – Twin Pines
- Best Restaurant – Cin Cin
- Sussex’s Finest – Jeremy’s
- Best Brunch – Café Rust
- Best Wine – Café Malbec
- Sustainable Eats – Isaac At
- Best Welcome – Ginger Dog
- Best Roast – Market Restaurant & Bar
- International Cuisine – Bincho Yakitori
- Best Pub – The Dorset
- Best Cocktail – Gungho
- Best Afternoon Tea – Steyning Tea Rooms
- Plant Champions – The Canna Kitchen
- Child-friendly – Fatto A Mano
All BRAVOs winners will be announced on Monday 28th March – so if you plan to get involved pop the date in your diary!
