Cafe Plenty

Feeding the Appetite & Satisfying the Soul

Cafes and coffee shops are ten a penny in Brighton, so anywhere new popping up has to bring something special to the table. The founders of Cafe Plenty aim to do this with their new cafe, micro-bakery and tea & coffee brew house on Circus Parade, Preston Circus in Brighton. If you want a better idea of where that is, it’s just off the side of the London Road, next to Vantage Point and Rayment Cycles.

W.T.F (what’s the food)

Where food is concerned, just like its name, there’s plenty to choose from and everything comes from local farms, producers and suppliers. There are breakfasts and brunches, freshly cut sandwiches, pastries and cakes made in the onsite micro-bakery. As well as many more dishes inspired by owner Mitch’s travels and created with a balance of nutrition, flavour and affordability.

All bread is lovingly handcrafted, freshly baked in-house and hot from the oven that same day, by Mitch who is the head baker and head chef of PLENTY. The selection of bread ranges from sourdough and rye to wholegrain and farmhouse, all using locally sourced flours and other ingredients.

Coffee comes courtesy of Brighton based specialists, Coffee @ 33, with a blend that uses a combination of Brazilian and Sumatran beans.

Plenty teams with Brighton based tea and honey company, Chi, to offer more than twenty different types of fresh and loose leaf teas on offer, every day. Expect to see some familiar names on the tea menu such as The Earl of Brunswick, Pavilion Gardens, Sussex Breakfast and Indian Summer. As well as some more exotic names and flavours such as Golden Yunnan, Sweet Turkish Apple and White Cumin.

Why you’ll love it

  • It’s a light, urban space, with quirky artwork on the exposed brickwork walls and a pop-up garden out front in the summer
  • The are vertical bike racks inside Cafe Plenty to keep your bike safe whilst you drink and dine
  • Mitch also has plans for the space to be used as a venue to host Fringe and Festival activities, creative workshops, local musicians and artists
